The 1867 Three-Cent Nickel, designed by James B. Longacre, features Lady Liberty's bust on the front (obverse) with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "3" for value, while the back (reverse) shows a large Roman numeral "3" surrounded by an ornate wreath, all in a copper-nickel composition with a plain edge, known for being common but tricky to find with full detail on the reverse numerals.
Design: A detailed profile of Lady Liberty facing left, wearing a coronet.
Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arcs around the top, and the large number "3" (representing the value) sits below her neck.
