Each book in this six volume set is the first printing of the popular edition; it was edited by staff members of the Tokyo National Museum, published by Toto Shuppan Company in Tokyo, Japan, and distributed by Charles E. Tuttle Company of Rutland, Vermont, and Tokyo. It was printed in Japan by Nakano Printing Co. Book titles are Textiles and Lacquer, Ceramics and Metalwork, Sculpture, Architecture and Gardens, Painting: 6th through 14th Centuries, and Painting: 14th through 19th Centuries.
Good vintage condition: dust jackets have edge wear; see photos. Each inside cover page has discoloration that aligns with the dust jacket; the pages are clean without writing. Page 171 of Textiles has been bent. See photos.
