50s BOYD'S THREADNEEDLE STREET - 26cm

This is a BOYD'S, a name that even makes babies stop crying.

BOYD'S, a haberdashery founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1876, commissioned several companies, including Bostonian, in the 50s and 60s (they were pioneers in this regard) to produce the "THREAD NEEDLE STREET" line. These shoes featured thick uppers, protruding welts, and thick soles (1.5cm), resulting in an incredibly "gunboat" style.

The creation of such high-end, yet casual, shoes is likely due to the thriving automotive industry in St. Louis at the time, which led to the prosperity of young people and workers.

The number of existing pairs is extremely limited, and preferences vary depending on the manufacturer. This pair is a semi-brogue believed to be made by the popular Bostonian. The black color is particularly rare.

These shoes boast a luxurious and thick upper, all-leather insoles, thick double leather soles, and a top lift with nailed-in V-cleats, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship and luxury. The way the creases form on the leather conveys its thickness and supple feel.

This pair is an easy-to-match, outside-laced semi-brogue that still exudes a strong personality.

There are no tears or rips, and considering its age, this pair is in very good condition.

The size is US9B, but due to the original last being wide, it fits my 26cm feet perfectly without any extra space in the toe.
