The material is a reproduction of the back pile fabric produced in the 1950s and 60s. By slowly knitting with a loopwheel knitting machine, random bumps appear on the surface, expressing a unique mottled effect and loops.
By using open-end yarn, the back pile fabric is initially stiff, but its texture increases with wear.
Even in Wakayama, there are very few loopwheel knitting machines that can produce this back pile fabric, and it is said to be difficult to reproduce once another fabric has been knitted. Using this exceptional material, the fit has been enhanced with the pattern, and top-class processing has been applied, resulting in a garment with a strong presence.
It was produced using a unique dyeing method that blends two colors. The design was inspired by abstract art. This is a one-of-a-kind piece.
