Antique 1880s-1930s Muted Earth Tones Primitive Hand Stitched Wool Suiting Quilt

This gorgeous, antique, rustic quilt is hand sewn and tied with men’s suiting scraps—tweeds, flannels, serges, and worsteds. It is backed and trimmed with soft flannel. It is showing some wear, small holes and some tasty areas that have been munched on by moths, all consistent with age.


As I’m typing this, I have the quilt across my lap and can almost imagine the stories it has to tell of the struggles and difficulties this family faced during that time in history.


I feel honored to have this amazing piece of Americana in my possession even for a short time, it’s truly beautiful.
