This is an antique Japanese koro incense burner, marked Nippon on the base — dating it before 1921. Hand-crafted black pottery with raised scrollwork and pierced lid vents. Tripod footed base with red clay showing through in places, typical of early Japanese kilns.
Age: Meiji–Taisho Era (pre-1921)

Marking: NIPPON stamped on base
Condition: Displays expected surface wear and glaze loss appropriate for its age. Small clay firing hole on side. Lid fits well. See photos for exact condition.
