Antique Victorian Linen and Silk Tassled Handbag
Lovely old purse, drawstring closure at top with cord, the linen purse is lined in contrasting fabric. Both the front and back are embroidered in silk threads of periwinkle blue, deep burgundy, blush peach, and outlined in a dark black thread. Tassles hang from the bottom and two along the front. A lace panel runs the length of front and bottom. This is a lovely, historic piece, with influences of art nouveau and arts and craft periods!

13" long, plus 2" of tassles x 9.5" wide across bottom, slightly tapers upward
Cord extends 3" on each side
There is visible wear to the linen that has resulted in holes along the edges (see photo). Linen is an aged beige. Interior lining intact and clean. Very minor loss of silk stitches...found perhaps 4 stitches lost.
