Low carbon wire is made from steel rod with an 0.06-0.08% carbon content while high tensile wire remains at approximately 0.28% carbon content. Low Carbon wire can be easy to work with but it is prone to elongation. The coating of the fence will determine how long the fence will last. This Bekaert standard strength fences is available in Class 1 coating. While low carbon fences have been the standard for years, be advised that low carbon fences will stretch and sag over time which will require regular maintenance.
