Fascinating Fun Facts:
- Seattle Slew (19742002) was a real, legendary racehorse. He is best known as the 1977 Triple Crown winner, and he was the only horse to win the Triple Crown while undefeated at that time.
- He was purchased at auction as a yearling for just $17,500 considered a bargain even then.
- He won 14 of his 17 races, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes in 1977.
- His name came from his owners Seattle for their home city, and Slew (an old word for swamp) from the owners childhood memories of playing in the marshes.
