This ole bear has had a life! However, he is still very collectible and adorable! Made in Germany at the turn of the century, he has movable arms, legs and head and is made of mohair.
He no longer has his tags, which would be the way to ensure he is a Steiff, so the previous owner got X-rays to prove that he was made by the well known maker. Early Steiff bears from around 1904-1905 used internal metal rods for jointing, while later bears used a disk jointing system.
Glass eyes & the upside down V mouth, made famous by Steiff, drive the point home that he is a very collectible ole bear that still has another century of love to give!
