Planned based on hats popular in the 1920s and 30s.

Originally, this type of hat is generally called a hunting cap in English, but... in Japan, when you say hunting cap, people tend to imagine a hat with a single-piece crown. Therefore, Dry Bones calls this type of eight-panel hat a "casquette" (meaning cap in English), a product name taken from old French films.

The fabric used is 10-ounce cotton denim made with slub yarn. It's a material that's fun to watch age and fade with wear.

It's a single-layer construction, so the inside is also beautifully sewn and finished, assuming it will be seen. Cotton bias tape is used for the piping. Because the tape is designed to withstand diagonal stress, it's effective in maintaining the shape that wraps around the head.

The brim uses the same fabric and doesn't have a stiffener, so it will distort with wear. Unlike new hats, it doesn't use a plastic stiffener, so there's no worry of it cracking easily.

The sweatband uses stretchy soccer tuck fabric. It gently wraps around the head.

Off-white stitching is used, following the work style of yesteryear.

Having one of these is useful because it can be matched with various styles. A denim cap casually stuffed in a back pocket is truly an American landscape.
