Giant Clam Shell from Australia

The maxima clam, scientifically known as Tridacna maxima, is a species of large bivalve mollusk commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region.

This shell was originally obtained by my grandmother during her childhood fishing experiences in Australia. It held a significant place in her living room for many years, serving as a holder for her fire agates.

A few years ago, the shell was passed down to me. While parting with it will be difficult, the financial demands of schooling necessitate such a decision.

I have not conducted any extensive maintenance on the shell, apart from giving it occasional water baths. Appreciating its original state, as illustrated in some accompanying photographs, I find that the intricate details within the shell add a distinctive character to it. While I have refrained from bleaching or shaping its edges thus far, I am open to doing so if there is interest or specific requests.
