The goal was not only to rebuild ground zero,but also to "create new neighborhoods,create hundreds of thousands of jobs and affordable housing,and transform New York's economy". Despite public disapproval of some of the projects such as a NY Olympic games and stadium on the West Side, he steadfastly completed those projects. The end result is today's New York.
