Purchased from the estate sale in South Florida, Vero Beach. Artist was JANET SCANLON (1930-2007). Her daughter was selling all of her art.
1963 Janet assisted in the management of the 70 Stall Horse Farm, "Orchard Hill Farms," located in Cazenovia NY. She was a prolific artist who won numerous awards with her oil paintings. (1930-2007).
This painting looks like it's unfinished.
This is what her friends said about her: Jan was so talented as an artist and inspired others to take up the craft. I was amazed at the extent of her paintings, even overflowing into the garage. She was ever the consummate lady, always dressed superbly and usually with a Western turquoise theme.
Dimensions are 22" x 30". Some stains on the back of the canvas due to age. (1999- 2006). There is a magazine picture which was used to paint this amazing piece of art.
