【Content Introduction】

An iconographic study of the painter Hieronymus Bosch, who visually represented the changing worldview during the transition of Europe from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

Hieronymus Bosch, a painter from the Netherlands. This book attempts to uniquely decipher the mysterious shapes incorporated into his works from the perspective of iconography, while taking into account conventional theories. In particular, it elucidates the hidden geometrical thinking as symbolism of letters and numbers. Along with abundant illustrations, this book is a valuable resource for research in art history, iconography, and Renaissance history.
