Just unlock the knob of the longest leg so that all the legs can be swung to the correct position in seconds. While the longest leg is leveling the stand and the spring-loaded locating pin is engaged, the middle leg remains securely in place minimizing any possibility of the stand tipping over if accidentally hit.
