About 9 1/4” x 6 5/8” x 1 3/4” deep. L Straus & Sons, New York, Patent Unchippable Surface Burslem England. Impressed into the china is Patent. Magnificent beehive logo. 1940-20’s
Lazarus Straus immigrated to this country from Germany (Bavaria) in 1852 and established a "business of importing and selling fine china and glassware"). In 1874 he and his sons, Isidor and Nathan, leased the china and glass shop in the R. H. Macy department store, New York City. In the 1880s and 1890s, L. Straus & Sons maintained sizeable departments in major department stores
This is clearly marked "L Straus & Sons, New York, Vitrified, England, Imperial" Includes crown insignia. Printed in blue. Very good condition. No chips or cracks. Some signs of wear on bottom, but nothing significant. We do not alter any items sold; they are listed the way they were found.
