NUX Mod Core Deluxe MKII Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal

Eight boutique-grade modulation engines, stereo loop routing and Tone Lock bypass—ready to colour any pedalboard.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Eight classic algorithms—from shimmering Stereo Chorus to deep U-Vibe Vibrato and jet-plane Flanger—selected via the Type rotary switch.
  • Stereo I/O with Send/Return enables serial or parallel effect loops and true wet/dry chains without additional routing hardware.
  • Smart tap tempo & subdivisions set modulation speed precisely on stage, locking to quarter, dotted-eighth or triplet feels.
  • Alt-mode Tweak knob blends parallel paths or dials hidden parameters such as mix depth and feedback, extending sound design possibilities.
  • True, Buffered or Tone Lock bypass lets you choose silent switching, trails spill-over or locked control-panel protection.
  • Studio-grade DSP runs at 48 kHz/32-bit with 104 dB dynamic range for noise-free operation in front of amps or in FX loops.
  • Low-current 9 V DC operation (<120 mA) integrates cleanly with standard pedalboard supplies.
  • Compact, rugged enclosure (122 × 72 × 47 mm, 270 g) saves valuable board space while surviving nightly gigs.

Overview

The NUX Mod Core Deluxe MKII distils revered studio rack units and vintage stompboxes into a single, pedalboard-friendly chassis. Each algorithm captures the signature LFO curves, phase shifts and pre-emphasis circuits of its inspiration—whether that’s the rich 1980s Stereo Chorus or the swirling photocell throb of a Uni-Vibe.

Performance & Signal Routing

Stereo inputs and outputs mean wide-field chorus or ping-pong flanger tails translate perfectly in two-amp rigs or direct-to-DAW sessions. Engage the Send/Return loop to insert dirt pedals between pre- and post-modulation stages, or flip the Alt switch and use the Tweak control to blend parallel signals for subtle movement without losing note definition.

Tap Tempo & Subdivisions

Holding the footswitch activates Smart Tap: tap two or more times to set the global rate, then choose your subdivision for dotted-eighth ambient swirls or galloping triplet phaser pulses—all without bending to twist knobs.

Bypass Modes & Tone Lock

True bypass removes all circuitry for the purest path. Buffered bypass keeps long cable runs pristine and allows delay trails, while Tone Lock instantly freezes every knob and toggle, safeguarding meticulously dialled sounds during energetic sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I preserve modulation tails when bypassing?
Yes—select Buffered mode to let chorus or flanger trails fade naturally.

Does the pedal support expression control?
It does not feature an expression jack, but rate and depth can be adjusted in real time via tap-tempo and the Alt switch.

Is firmware user-upgradable?
A USB-C port on the rear lets you apply future NUX updates from a Mac or PC.

Will it run on a daisy-chain supply?
Yes, provided the total current is sufficient and outputs are isolated to avoid ground noise.

Can the Send/Return loop be used for parallel wet/dry routing?
Absolutely—engage Alt mode and use the Tweak knob to balance original and loop signals.
