Sentient, the 11-track retrospective features both new and previously released tracks, including collaborations with Smokey Robinson and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, as well as posthumous contributions from music legends Miles Davis and Michael Jackson. The album includes a reworked version of Santana’s 2009 song with Smokey Robinson, “Please Don’t Take Your Love,” and a live instrumental showcase of Jackson’s “Stranger in Moscow.” “I went to the studio and did my own thing,” Santana said in a press release.
