First American edition, first printing hardcover copy of South of the Border, West of the Sun by Haruki Murakami (Alfred A. Knopf, 1998). Surreal fiction novel by the acclaimed Japanese author of such books as Norwegian Wood / 1Q84 / A Wild Sheep Chase / The Windup Bird Chronicle and many others. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with mild rubbing to faces and slight shelf wear around the edges. Two small white marks on front liner flap, appears to be an error in production. Boards are straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. Binding is firm and spine remains fairly straight. All pages clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
