※ This kit can be used with the PC-98 series, but please check for capacity limitations depending on the PC-98's release date. CF cards are easily replaceable, so don't worry too much.
※ Originally for IDE type hard disks. It cannot be used with PC-9801DA and earlier models, as they are SASI type. Also, it cannot be used with laptops due to different adapter shapes.
※ It may also be usable with recent DOS/V machines, but large-capacity CF cards are difficult to obtain, so using a silicon disk is generally recommended for recent Windows systems. Therefore, please consider this for PC-9821.

※ In short, compact disks and silicon disks are for replacing conventional mechanical hard disks with electronic ones. This is what is known as SSD conversion. When I was actively using these, it was expensive and a dream for individuals. Now it's very affordable, and it's a must-have.
It improves speed, power consumption, quietness, and shock resistance. Also, the contents of the HDD can be easily changed, so you can feel at ease even if it breaks. It also means that you can easily prepare several system versions and change them depending on your mood.

No matter how much the CPU speed increases, if the hard disk is slow, it will become a bottleneck and the overall performance will not improve. If you are upgrading your PC, you need to consider that. It may improve the overall performance of the PC more than upgrading the CPU.
