vintage UNTESTED Blonder-Tongue Labs Ultraverter, specifically an all-channel UHF converter model BTU-2S or BTC-99R. It is not a radio but a television accessory from the 1950s/1960s, used to enable older TV sets (which only had VHF tuners) to receive channels in the newly allocated UHF band. Converts UHF television signals to a VHF channel (typically channel 5 or 6) so they could be displayed on early TV sets.
Design: Features a retro brown bakelite case and matching knobs.
Channels: The dial allows selection of UHF channels 14-83.
Historical Context: These converters were necessary until the FCC mandated that all new TVs include built-in UHF tuners. AS IS.
