This is an authentic vintage Maverick sherpa-lined denim jacket, produced in the 1970s to early 1980s when Maverick was part of the Blue Bell / Wrangler family. Maverick jackets from this era were built as true workwear — heavier, warmer, and more rugged than most modern denim jackets.

Unlike standard denim trucker jackets, this piece features a full sherpa lining throughout the body and a corduroy collar, making it a cold-weather jacket designed for ranch, western, and outdoor work. These were commonly worn by workers and outdoorsmen, which is why clean examples like this are increasingly hard to find today.

Maverick jackets are well known among vintage denim collectors as a Wrangler-adjacent alternative to Levi’s, often produced in smaller numbers and with a more utilitarian focus. Because many were heavily worn and discarded, surviving jackets with intact sherpa lining and solid structure have become highly collectible.
