Paul Chaleff is an American ceramist and professor emeritus at Hofstra University. He is a pioneer of wood fired ceramics in the U.S. How work can be found in the collections of the museum of modern art. This piece measures 10" x 7".
This vase comes from the estate sale at the home of the actress Karen Allen who appeared in the Indiana Jones movies as well as many others. She had many beautiful pieces, but this really stood out. It is a large heavy piece.
