This vintage, possibly antique, scissor and letter opener from Germany is a rare find, perfect for collectors of unique desktop items. The sheath depicts a beautiful and colorful scene of the Jochberg mountain and lake Walchensee in Germany. Jochberg is a mountain (1,567 meters high) in the Bavarian Alpine Foreland, the first range of mountains of the Alps in southern Germany mountain. The mountain stands between two large lakes, Kochelsee and Walchensee. Walchensee is the lake that is beautifully portrayed against the Jochberg mountain on the sheath.
The scissors and letter opener have coordinating intricate engraved designs. The scissors are marked with a German company however it is hard to determine the exact name engraved (see pictures). It appears to say “Bestos”.
Everything works as intended. The pieces are in good condition for their age.
The sheath is approximately 5.5” in length. Letter opener is approximately 4 1/8” in length. Scissors are approximately 4” in length.
